We got tired of 40-tab budget spreadsheets and $15/month apps. HonestBudget is simple tools that actually get used.

Every budgeting product we tried failed the same way. The apps wanted a bank connection, a subscription and a weekly notification habit. The spreadsheets wanted a weekend of setup and a working knowledge of pivot tables. Both got abandoned by February.

So we built the version we actually wanted: one file, plain language, numbers you type in once a week. It calculates the boring parts and stays out of the way for the rest.
